Secondary Operations

Atlas Dowel can provide a wide range of different secondary operations to our dowels. Each one has it's own functionality and many can be combined. Below you will find an overview of the different types and brief descriptions.

rounding for dowel rod ends

Rounding

Rounding adds a dome to the end of the dowel. Great banners or tool handles

chamfer dowels with slight bevels on the ends

Chamfer

Chamfer knocks off the edge of the dowel creating a slight bevel.

slotted dowel rods

Slotted

Slotted cuts a slot through the end or side of the dowel and used for connection points.

tenon dowels

Tenon

Tenoned dowels can be used for handles or when joining a dowel to another component.

End Bore

End bore is drilling a hole through the end of the dowel.

Cross Bore

Cross bore is drilling a hole through the side of the dowel.

pointed dowels with blunt tip

Pointed

Pointing adds a blunt point to the end of the dowel.

threaded dowel rods

Threaded

Threaded creates a wood thread to the end of the dowel to be used instead of a metal threaded tip.

tapered dowel

Tapered

Tapering is similar to pointing, except at less of an angle. Commonly used for tool handles.

Threaded screw eyes inserted on end of dowel. Perfect for banners or signs.
