Atlas Dowel offers products in a very wide range of species. While we stock hardwood lumber, we can also manufacture products in some softwood. Below is a list of all our different species, a picture of the wood and a brief description.

Light, creamy color with a subtle grain pattern; known for its hardness and durability.

Similar to hard maple but slightly softer; offers a light color with a less pronounced grain.

Light to medium brown with a straight, pronounced grain; very hard and flexible.  

mahogany

Mahogany

Rich reddish-brown; straight to interlocked grain; medium to hard.

cherry wood

Smooth texture and natural reddening over time, favored for upscale projects.

Rich, dark brown hue with a straight to wavy grain; hard, but works smoothly.

Extremely hard; olive-brown to blackish, often with lighter or darker striping.

Pale yellow to light brown with a prominent knot pattern; soft and pliable.

Light to medium brown, with a pronounced, often wavy grain; very hard and heavy.

Light pink to reddish-brown; fine, straight grain; very hard and strong.

purple heart

Purple Heart

Dense and durable. Renounded for it's deep, rich purple hue that deepens with age and exposure.
